haf.vc, a venture capital fund built on the legacy of Hyderabad Angels, has invested Rs 3 crore in Hunar.AI, a conversational artificial intelligence company focused on frontline workforce management.

Founded in 2022 by Krishna Khandelwal and Shantanu Bhattacharyya, Hunar.AI builds AI agents that hire, induct, train and engage frontline workers across languages, through voice and WhatsApp.

The startup will use the funds for AI infrastructure, product development, sales and market expansion, targeting businesses that recruit and manage large workforces across locations and languages, according to a statement.

Kalyan Sivalenka, Managing Partner, haf.vc, said India’s frontline workforce is huge, multilingual and largely underserved by technology.

“Its team began in workforce services and turned that experience into AI that works in the languages and workflows of the people it serves,” he said.

He said the fund invested alongside Blume Ventures and a syndicate of investors, in line with its approach of “Hyderabad capital backing the best founders across India”.

Krishna Khandelwal, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hunar.AI, said the investment would strengthen the company’s reach as it takes its multilingual conversational AI to more enterprises in Telangana.
