Special Report:Codeifai has opened an AWS Marketplace sales channel for ProtectCode, making its QR code serialisation platform easier for enterprise customers to access and purchase.

AWS Marketplace is Amazon’s catalogue of third-party software and the listing offers Codeifai (ASX:CDE) access to enterprise pricing and terms through a purchasing channel customers already use.

Codeifai says the integration has passed AWS’s listing review process, requiring significant technical development. It follows a website relaunch designed to support the integration.

CEO John Houston expects the simpler purchasing process to help attract enterprise brands.

“We are very proud of this. Integration into the Amazon Web Services Marketplace provides Enterprise brands with a seamless onboarding and billing process which we believe will open new sources of business,” he said.

Shorter path to purchase

Codeifai describes the listing as its most significant move towards self-service procurement, giving customers a direct route from finding the QR generation software to subscribing.

Enterprise customers will receive metered charges through their AWS accounts.

Codeifai says using existing billing arrangements and accepted terms reduces friction in the buying process.

ProtectCode subscriptions follow the same tiered structure as Codeifai’s direct self-service software sales. Each tier includes an allowance of ProtectCodes over the billing period.

Usage above that allowance is metered, reported automatically to AWS and added to the customer’s invoice.

In 2023, AWS claimed to have more than 330,000 active Marketplace customers. The company says its customers have more than three million Marketplace subscriptions.

Product identity moves beyond checkout

Serialisation like barcodes and QR codes give individual products distinct identities, allowing businesses to link each item to its own record.

GS1, a global retail standards not-for-profit, says batch and serial identifiers support more targeted recalls, while the proposed launch of next-generation barcodes in QR format can carry product identifiers, expiry dates and web links.

The industry ambition of GS1 is for retail checkout systems globally to read and process compliant two-dimensional barcodes like QR codes by the end of 2027.

GS1 Australia says the transition requires scanner upgrades and a period of dual marking with existing barcodes.

Mordor Intelligence estimates the broader consumer goods and pharmaceutical packaging market for track-and-trace, serialisation and anti-tamper solutions at US$1.93bn in 2025, rising to US$3.20bn by 2030.

Its January 2026 estimate implies annual growth of 10.64% and includes hardware, software and services across several technologies.

For Codeifai, the AWS listing offers another purchasing channel for ProtectCode serialisation platform as brands assess their product identification needs in an evolving industry environment.
